A speakeasy, also called a blind tiger or blind pig, was a clandestine bar that supplied alcoholic beverages. These bars made their entrance in the United States during Prohibition period (1920 - 1933). During this time, transportation, production and sale of alcohol was illegal in the
United States. When the Prohibition was ended, in 1933, most of the speakeasies disappeared.
Even though the speakeasy bars were illegal, there were many of them and they were very popular too. Some of the people who ran speakeasies were a part of organized crime.
According to us, the biggest benefit of speakeasy bars is the calmth, bonding and good vibes it creates among a group of people when they truly feel connected because of the secret they share.
